Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Muslims in Malaysia may have to learn to live with their wrinkles after the country's top Islamic xbody ruled against Botox (Allergan) injections.
The National Fatwa Council, a group of top Muslim clerics, came down against Botox, deciding that it contains prohibitedsubstances, including some derived from pigs, Britain's BBC News reports. Among Muslim Malays, eating pork or coming into contact with pigs is a greater taboo than drinking or adultery.
The ruling is expected to become part of Malaysia's Islamic law. Still, there is little the authorities can do to prevent residents from traveling abroad for Botox injections, the BBC reports.
