Uncharted Territory: Aesthetic Authority Vol.1: No.2

The Summer issue of Aesthetic Authority offers cutting-edge treatment- and trend-related content, while also confronting current challenges affecting the specialty.

Every aspect of our personal and professional lives has been affected in some way by the onset of COVID-19.

As we work towards structuring new normalcies, we understand the importance of continuing to pursue the work we are passionate about. For us, that’s researching and sharing the latest innovations and insights within the aesthetic specialty. For our physicians, it’s practicing aesthetic medicine safely and doing so with confidence.

Thus, in the Summer issue of Aesthetic Authority, we bring you cutting-edge treatment- and trend-related content, while also confronting some of the real issues affecting the specialty. We take a serious look at diversity in aesthetics as well as pandemic-related legal issues and lessons learned from the COVID-19 shutdown. This issue features several physicians who are finding ways to creatively navigate this largely uncharted territory in which we find ourselves. Dr. Suneel Chilukuri shares a new “functional” use for the body toning technologies. Others share new opportunities in skincare sales and addressing the rise in stress-induced hair loss. In one of the first virtual meetings that took place since the onset of the pandemic, Dr. Kian Karimi

suggests that threads are the new “injectable,” and Dr. Jacob Haiavyshares his protocols for managing or treating capsular contracture with LED light.

We hope you glean clinical and practice insights from this issue, and embrace hope during the current challenges, as elucidated by our Medical Editorial Advisor Dr. Randolph Waldman in his editorial, “‘Here Comes the Sun.’”
