Atopic dermatitis phenotypes may indicate outcomes
October 3rd 2017Children under two years old with signs of atopic dermatitis have an increased risk of developing asthma and food allergies, researchers report in JAMA Pediatrics. And, young children with both early onset atopic dermatitis and a food allergy, have a “very high risk” of developing asthma or allergic rhinitis.

He understands much of the pathophysiology of rosacea. He begins to use a copycat version of a compounded topical, which he has been able to get at a discounted rate. Unfortunately several patients have severe reactions, and he is soon the recipient of multiple medical malpractice lawsuits. Has he done anything wrong?
Sonidegib gets a new label for recurring laBCC
October 1st 2017Sun Pharmaceutical Industries announced in September the FDA has approved a new label for sonidegib (Odomzo, Novartis), an oral hedgehog inhibitor indicated for the treatment of adults with locally advanced basal cell carcinoma (laBCC) that has recurred following surgery or radiation therapy, or for patients who are not candidates for surgery or radiation therapy.
