Spotlighting National Eczema Week 2024

Catch up on eczema advancements throughout the year, including news on contact dermatitis, chronic hand eczema, and more.

National Eczema Week is recognized every year to bring awareness to the challenges patients with eczema face and to highlight new treatment advancements. This year, National Eczema Week takes place from September 14th to the 21st. According to the National Eczema Association, 31 million people in the US live with eczema and 55% of adults with eczema report inadequate disease control.1

During National Eczema Week and all times throughout the year, clinicians can help patients understand their specific type of eczema and available treatments. Patients may experience atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, dyshidrotic eczema, neurodermatitis, nummular eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, or stasis dermatitis.

The slideshow below features recent eczema news, including contact dermatitis pearls from Matthew Zirwas, MD; LEO Pharma’s CHECK data for chronic hand eczema; Oragnon’s acquisition of Dermavant and its sNDA of tapinarof cream for atopic dermatitis; lebrikizumab’s efficacy in patients with skin of color; and Raj Chovatiya’s MD, PhD, evaluation of roflumilast foam for seborrheic dermatitis in diverse hair types.
