As the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants Conference begins this week, speakers share what they’re excited about.
The 2022 Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) Conference starts November 17th and ends November 20th in Miami, Florida. Lauren Miller, MPAS, PA-C, and President of the Board of Directors for SDPA, shares what she is looking forward to in an interview with Dermatology Times®.
“I think I'm most looking forward to just the experience and being able to talk with and meet the attendees, most of whom are members of SDPA, and hopefully, get some of them interested in joining our leadership team. I'm excited about the networking opportunities and the events that we have going" said Miller.
Miller will be giving the welcome address to kick off the 20th annual SDPA Fall Conference in Miami, Florida on Thursday, November 17th.

Lauren Miller, MPAS,PA-C: So my name is Lauren Miller, and I'm a dermatology PA. I practice in Gadsden, Alabama. I am the current president of the SDPA. I've been in dermatology for about 14 years now. There are so many things about this conference that I'm looking forward to. And I think most presidents probably would tell you the same thing. You know, we are a organization that just happens to put on two meetings a year, and obviously the meetings allow us to have interactions with our members and the attendees. And so we always look forward to these twice a year. So from the moment that I found out that I was elected president elect, and I knew I was going to be president, I've looked forward to Miami. And so I have this vision in my mind of, you know, kind of what I wanted it to be like, from a educational standpoint and networking standpoint, every little small detail. So I think I'm most looking forward to just the experience and being able to talk with and meet the attendees, which most are members of SDA, and hopefully, maybe get some of them interested in joining our leadership team, probably also most excited about the networking opportunities and the events that we have going, we've really kind of pulled out all the stops. I'm kind of looking at it as a chance for us to pat ourselves on the back. And let us relax a little bit and clap for ourselves because we do so much for our patients. And, you know, COVID-19 has been tough on everybody the last few years. I think we all deserve a little bit of break and a little fun. And so that's what I'm hoping happens. There are so many different things I'm looking forward to, but I guess those would be the two biggest things.
