San Mateo, Calif. - Newly approved Radiesse - billed by manufacturer BioForm Medical as the "next-generation" dermal filler - offers long-lasting correction of moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds, the company says.
The Food and Drug Administration approved Radiesse for that indication in late December, and also approved use of the filler for long-lasting correction of facial lipoatrophy in patients with HIV.
Radiesse is the first cosmetic filler with a proven 12-month benefit in multiple clinical studies, BioForm Medical President and CEO Steven L. Basta said in a prepared statement.
