Clarify Medical recently announced the FDA-clearance of its home-based phototherapy for psoriasis and vitiligo, which is now rolling out for national distribution. The Clarify system integrates narrow band-Ultra Violet B (NB-UVB) therapy with the convenience of smartphone technology to accommodate physician requirements and patient quality of life, the company says. A lightweight handheld device syncs to the Clarify App on the patient’s phone, which guides patients through delivering brief doses of targeted NB-UVB phototherapy, controlled by a physician’s prescription, the company adds. Physicians can review each patient’s progress during office visits and through photographs of changes in skin condition via the HIPAA-compliant Clarify Physician Portal.
