As the field of dermatology continues to evolve and the demand for care continues to increase, Dermatology Times recognizes the important role advanced practice providers (APPs) play in delivering high quality patient care.

Through our many interactions at conferences and within the pages of Dermatology Times, we also recognize nurse practitioners and physician assistants face unique challenges and many have specific needs to further enhance their careers.

With that in mind, Dermatology Times is excited to launch a new series that will highlight the successes and address the issues APPs face in and out of the clinic as well as share opportunities and experiences.

We invite early career APPs to share their unique perspectives with readers and colleagues. Whether it’s navigating new clinical conundrums, expanding your knowledge with cutting-edge treatments, getting involved with advocacy organizations, developing new patient education resources to provide top notch care, or simply reflecting on your professional journey, we want to hear from you! You are also welcome to share unique approaches to patient management, insights on emerging treatments, or valuable lessons learned from your experiences to help guide and inspire others in the dermatology community.

The series will discuss:

  • Career Challenges: What are the most significant challenges you face in your daily practice? Are there obstacles that could be addressed to improve your work environment?
  • Aspirations and Goals: What are your career aspirations? What do you see as the future of dermatology for APPs?
  • Clinical Reflections: Do you have a success story or an “a-ha” moment you would like to share?
  • Advocacy and Inspiration: Where can the health system be improved to better support you as a key provider of care to patients? Who in the field has inspired you?

Contributors will have the opportunity to amplify their voice, participate in and lead collaborative learning events, and invest in their future via increased networking opportunities.

If you an early career APP (have been in the field for 10 years or less), are passionate about dermatology, and are eager to make an impact, we’d love to feature your story. Please email us at DTEditor@mmhgroup.com and include a brief abstract/proposal, preference for written versus video discussion, and a brief CV.
