Jacqueline Watchmaker MD, FAAD, Discusses the Innovative InterFuse Treatment Cream for Aging Skin

“I think some key things that stand out to me are that it's safe, effective, backed by rigorous clinical data, and has very high patient satisfaction,” Watchmaker said about the new product.

Jacqueline Watchmaker, MD, FAAD, a board-certified aesthetic dermatologist from Scottsdale, Arizona, met with Dermatology Times to discuss the new InterFuse Treatment Cream FACE & NECK by skinbetter science, highlighting its potential benefits for aging skin.

The product targets both collagen and elastin support, which is crucial for reducing wrinkles and enhancing skin firmness and elasticity. The cream’s updated formulation includes a collagen-supporting peptide blend, an elastin-supporting peptide blend (a new addition), a neuro-calming peptide to smooth fine lines, and ingredients like squalane, glycerin, and olive tree polyphenols. The cream also utilizes skinbetter’s InterFuse technology, which enhances ingredient delivery through a lipophilic coating and skin penetration agent for deeper and faster absorption.

Watchmaker also emphasized the significance of rigorous clinical trial data supporting the product's efficacy. A recent study, conducted over 12 weeks with 52 participants aged 45 to 65, demonstrated positive results. Patients experienced an 11% improvement in crepiness and firmness and a 19% improvement in smoothness. Over 90% reported satisfaction with smoother, firmer, and tighter skin. The study included participants from all Fitzpatrick skin types, adding to its broad applicability. Further tactile and visual assessments were implemented in this trial to evaluate crepiness, firmness, smoothness, and tolerability.

“As a dermatologist, tightening the skin and addressing crepiness is hard. Every little thing we can do to improve the firmness of patients' skin is helpful,” Watchmaker said. “[It] is very exciting to me...There aren't many true firming products on the market that have as robust of data as this product has.”

In comparison to other products on the market, Watchmaker highlighted the cream’s unique blend of peptide absorption, its strong clinical data, and the effectiveness of its patented InterFuse technology. Watchmaker also emphasized that the product is suitable for all patients, particularly those over 30 years old looking for improvements in fine lines, wrinkles, or skin firmness. It has proven safe for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and is recommended for use before moisturizers and sunscreen in a daily skincare routine.

“I think some key things that stand out to me are that it's safe, effective, backed by rigorous clinical data, and has very high patient satisfaction,” Watchmaker concluded.

InterFuse Treatment Cream FACE & NECK can be purchased online through skinbetter science’s website.
