Frontier Dermatology Unites 35 Offices in Pacific Northwest

The physician-owned practice combines residency and Mohs fellowship programs with patient care.

Nine legacy brands in the Pacific Northwest will be uniting under the name Frontier Dermatology, the company recently announced. By combining resources and expertise, Frontier Dermatology will expand its offerings to patients in all 35 offices across Oregon and Washington.1

Frontier Dermatology is the only physician-owned, physician-led, super-regional dermatology group with its own residency, Mohs fellowship program, clinical research program, and dual state lab operations. The company offers medical and cosmetic services to patients, including autoimmune disorder management, dermatitis and allergy testing, Mohs micrographic surgery, and scar revision. The first of Frontier Dermatology’s legacy practices opened in 2000.

“Several years ago, we set out to create a hybrid practice model combining the very best of academics with the very best of private practice, thereby creating not only the largest, but, more importantly, the most comprehensive dermatology program in the Pacific Northwest,” Dieter Schmidt, MD, chief medical officer of Frontier Dermatology told Dermatology Times®. “This has allowed our physicians to remain passionate about dermatology by giving them the opportunity to do more than just see patients, whether that be teaching the residents and fellows of our ACGME-accredited residency and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery training programs, or participating in our robust clinical research program, to name a few.”

Each individual office will maintain its operations, allowing patients to continue seeing their current physician. The expansion will enable patients to have access to more than 500 team members, as well as additional locations and services.

The 9 legacy practices are:

North Sound Dermatology (6 locations in Washington)

North Sound Dermatology Aesthetics (1 location in Washington)

Pacific Dermatology & Cosmetic Center (3 locations in Washington)

Puget Sound Dermatology (1 location in Washington)

West Sound Dermatology (1 location in Washington)

Pinnacle Dermatology & Skin Rejuvenation (1 location in Washington)

Seattle Skin & Laser (4 locations in Washington)

Rosario Skin Clinic (3 locations in Washington)

Silver Falls Dermatology (16 locations in Washington and Oregon)

The transition of each office will occur by mid-2024 and began with the launch of the Frontier Dermatology website, which offers comprehensive information about each location and the services it offers, as well as online scheduling and a patient portal.

“By harmonizing our diverse group of practices under a single, cohesive banner and website, we aim to further elevate the patient experience and foster innovation through greater collaboration across all our practices,” said Schmidt.
