Dermatology Times wins Gold Triangle Award

Chicago — Dermatology Times has received a Gold Triangle Award from the American Academy of Dermatology for its September, 2004 supplement, "The medical, emotional and financial impact of psoriasis."

Maureen Hrehocik, editor of Dermatology Times, accepted the award on behalf of the staff at the annual awards banquet at Academy '05 here.

"We're particularly proud of this supplement in that the judges recognized our attempt to present a multi-faceted view of a devastating disease and how it affects patients as well as dermatologists," Ms. Hrehocik says.

The awards were presented to individuals, community organizations, trade and consumer publications and industry.

"Media, industry and public health organizations play an important role in sharing the exciting advances in dermatologic treatments and therapies with patients," said Clay J. Cockerell, M.D., president of the American Academy of Dermatology. "This year's Gold Triangle winners are to be commended for their efforts in increasing awareness of dermatology and greatly impacting the lives of people throughout the country who are affected physically, emotionally and financially by these conditions."

Dr. Cockerell shared master of ceremony duties with Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times newspaper columnist and film critic with the "Ebert & Roeper" television show, and Tim Kazurinsky, a comic actor/writer probably best known for his "Saturday Night Live" days and the "Police Academy" movies.
