Candela today announces its collaboration with Jabil Healthcare to bring 11 new products to market in 18 months.
Candela, a medical aesthetic device company, today announced its collaboration with global manufacturing leader, Jabil Healthcare, to bring 11 new products to market in less than 18 months.
Jabil, the largest global manufacturing solutions provider in healthcare, according to the press release, consolidated Candela’s supply chain and ramped its volume manufacturing, while adhering to an aggressive timeline.
The company organized teams to transfer manufacturing responsibilities, guiding innovation in processes improvements, along with manufacturing best practices and quality.
“Jabil brings a level of manufacturing expertise and external knowledge from multiple medical device worlds that increases our skills and capabilities exponentially,” says Geoff Crouse, chief executive officer, Candela.
Resulting in production lines producing 11 new Candela products in just 18 months, the company’s partnership fortifies the mobilization of the procurement and supply sourcing in Candela’s overall supply chain, according to the release.
“Jabil’s supply chain management team identified suppliers who couldn’t match our ramp and capacity goals,” says Todd Van Horn, chief operating officer, Candela. “They then found and qualified new ones to give us the strength and resilience to weather a challenging environment, which is absolutely critical.”
The collaboration is resulting in double-digit business growth for Candela.
“Through our partnership with Jabil, we can drive growth, support more customers and build more devices with improved quality,” says Mary Trout, chief commercial officer, Candela.
