Roughly 40 percent of employees in all industries say they have been involved in an office romance. It may be even more likely in the less formal atmosphere of most medical practices.

Relationships between staff members and physicians can't turn out well for a practice. Even if the couple marry, the staffer will never be comfortable with other employees again. They'll resent her.

You can't prevent love, but you can ask a couple to decide which one of them will find a job elsewhere.
