AAD No Longer Requiring COVID-19 Vaccination to Attend Annual Meeting

The American Academy of Dermatology meeting, held in Boston, Massachusetts this year, will not be requiring those in attendance to prove their COVID-19 vaccination status.

The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) announced on February 22, 2022, that they will not be requiring proof as vaccination for entering their annual meeting taking place from March 25 to 27 in Boston, Massachusetts, in accordance withthe Boston city ordnance.

On February 18, 2022, the mayor of Boston, Michelle Wu, lifted the requirement for proof of vaccination against COVID-19 for Boston businesses. The decision was made after it was found that the impact of COVID-19 has been waning after the surge of cases in winter from the omicron variant. Now, people can go to restaurants, bars, convention centers, and hotel meeting spaces without having to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19.

The mask requirement will remain in indoor public places and the AAD will be distributing complimentary KN95 masks and hand sanitizer onsite at the annual meeting (while supplies last). The Boston Public Health Commission has plans to review the indoor mask order with the Boston Board of Health soon. The AAD will update their website when the new information is available.
