AAD changes some meeting procedures

As always, each new year for the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) meeting brings changes to the agenda, how the meeting is run and other details that reflect the evolution of technology.

As always, each new year for the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) meeting brings changes to the agenda, how the meeting is run and other details that reflect the evolution of technology.

This year's 64th Annual Meeting is no exception. Here we take a quick look at some changes that attendees should know about.

Cancellation policy

From Feb. 18 to Feb. 27, U.S. registrants must pay a $75 cancellation fee, due with badges and tickets mailed to AAD, postmarked prior to or by 5 p.m. CST Monday, Feb. 27. Be sure to include your name and confirmation number. Mail badge and tickets to: AAD Registration and Housing
108 Wilmot Rd., Suite 400
Deerfield, IL 60015-5124

Failure to comply with the requirements noted above will result in a forfeiture of all fees.

For international registrants, including those from Mexico and Canada, there is a $75 cancellation fee. A written letter requesting cancellation must be postmarked by 5 p.m. CST Feb. 27. Send this via e-mail to aad@itsmeetings.com
, or fax to (847) 940-2386 or (800) 521-6017.

After 5 p.m. CST Feb. 27, no refunds will be issued for advance or online registrations.

Advance registration and mailing

The Academy will mail name badges and tickets to all U.S. advance registrants the week of Feb. 17.

Advance registration closes Feb. 3 at 5 p.m. CST. After this time, no further changes can be made to registrations. Exchange/return of tickets may still occur on-site.

The address listed on an attendee's registration records is the address to which material will be mailed, and is the address that will be listed on the ExpoCard.

Those who did not complete advance registration before Feb. 3 may register at the on-site registration desk beginning at 2 p.m. March 2.

Badge reprints

Badges and tickets are mailed in advance. Bring these to the meeting. There will be a $50 reprint fee for each badge reprint or ticket reissuance.

Session handouts

All available session handouts will be distributed to medical attendees on CD with their registration bags. Notepads will be included in registration. Paper handouts will not be provided for any session. Handouts will be available on the AAD Web site ( http://www.aad.org/) approximately four weeks prior to the meeting.

Wi-Fi lounges will be available in the lobbies of the Moscone Center so that participants can check e-mail.

International registration

International attendees who have registered in advance and do not wish to make any changes can pick up their badges, tickets and registration bags at the AAD satellite registration located at the San Francisco Marriott Yerba Buena Ballroom registration desk.

This site will be available on Thursday, March 2, from 2 to 8 p.m., and on Friday, March 3, from 7 a.m. to noon. On-site registration will not be available at this location, nor can changes be made. Session tickets cannot be purchased at this site.
