AAD awards presidential citations

Boni E. Elewski, M.D., president of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), will award the distinguished presidential citation to 20 members today. The recipients are:

Wilma F. Bergfeld, M.D., Cleveland, Ohio, in recognition of her service as chair of the ad hoc task force for the leadership circle for volunteerism.

Martin M. Black, M.D., of London, U.K., in recognition of his service as an international board representative.

Jean L. Bolognia, M.D., of New Haven, Conn., in recognition for her service as chair of the scientific assembly committee and for development of the Academy's medical student core curriculum in dermatology.

Andrew Bronin, M.D., of Rye Brook, N.Y., in recognition of his service in support of the development of the Academy's medical student core curriculum in dermatology.

Jeffrey P. Callen, M.D., Louisville, Ky., in recognition as the 2004 vice president of the AAD and chair of the ad hock task force on unity in dermatology.

Clay J. Cockerell, M.D., Dallas, in recognition of his support for the unity initiative; his commitment to hold a leadership development forum in April 2005; and as co-chair of the ad hoc task force to examine the nominating and election process.

Raymond L. Cornelison, Jr., M.D., Oklahoma City, Okla., in recognition of his commitment to unity in dermatology.

James Q. DelRosso, D.O., Las Vegas, in recognition for his service as chair on the ad hoc task force to review American Academy of Dermatology and American Academy of Dermatology Association vision, mission and strategic goals; and his commitment to unity in dermatology.

Steven R. Feldman, M.D., Ph.D., Winston-Salem, N.C., in recognition for his service as chair of the organizational structure committee and his commitment to unity in dermatology.

Robert D. Greenberg, M.D., Vernon, Conn., in recognition for his service as chair of the organizational structure committee and his commitment to unity in dermatology.

John C. Hall, M.D., Kansas City, Mo., in recognition for his long-term support for volunteerism.

Henry W. Lim, M.D., Detroit, in recognition of his support of the AAD's commitment to dermatology research and as chair of the scientific consensus conference to examine Vitamin D and human health.

Mary E. Maloney, M.D., Worcester, Mass., in recognition for her service as chair of the work group to develop the dermatology review course.

John E. Olerud, M.D., Seattle, in recognition of his service and leadership as chair of the work group to review grant applications for the Dermatology Residency Support Initiative.

Barbara R. Reed, M.D., Denver, in recognition of her service as chair of the ad hoc task force on isotretinoin and her efforts to preserve access to isotretinoin on behalf of dermatologists and patients.

Mary C. Spellman, M.D., San Diego, in recognition of her service on the self-assessment task force and the development of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology self-assessment exam submission program.

James S. Taylor, M.D., Cleveland, Ohio, in recognition of his service and commitment as a member-at-large representative on the executive committee.

Ronald G. Wheeland, M.D., Tucson, in recognition of his service as chair of the ad hoc task force for leadership mentoring and his commitment to unity in dermatology.

Allan S. Wirtzer, M.D., Sherman Oaks, Calif., in recognition of his service as chair of the coding and reimbursement task force and as chair of the ad hock task force on unsupervised/unauthorized practice of medicine by non-physicians.
